Candle SafetyFailure to follow instructions may result in fire, hazard or injury. Keep out of reach of kids and pets and away from any flammable materials. Do not use the lid to extinguish the candle. Burn your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Avoid exposure to drafts. Never move a burning candle. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Allow to cool after burning - the glass will be hot! Before handling or moving, ensure your candle is extinguished, the soy wax is solid and the glass is cold before handling. Always trim your wick down to 5mm before re-lighting to avoid a large, flickering flame.
-
What is the white crystalline layer on my candle? Our candles can present with what is known as "frosting". This is a signature effect of quality pure vegetable waxes. It is purely cosmetic and does not affect the burn of your candle.
-
Are there essential oils in our candles?FNQ Gifts candles are made with a candle safe natural fragrance oil which may be manufactured with essential oils. However, since many essential oils can be extremely toxic and dangerous when exposed to a flame, we don't use pure essential oils in our candles for your safety.
-
What is so important about the first burn? The first burn essentially creates the pathway for every following burn of your candle. It is important to allow your candle to melt the wax all the way to the outer edge during your first burn to ensure your candle burns correctly and extend its lifetime.
-
What else should I know about caring for my candle?Store your candles in a cool dry place as wax can soften in temperatures over 25 degrees and avoid direct sunlight. Keep your candles covered with the lid when not in use to avoid dust build up and debris from contaminating your candle. Keep your wick trimmed before each burn to prevent excessive smoking, large flames, and wick mushrooming. Remember, candles are a lifestyle choice and care should be taken when burning.
-
What wax do you use?We previously used a high quality soy wax, however as of June 2022 our candles are made from a high quality olive wax.
-
What's in your soaps? We use a coconut and olive oil vegetable glycerine soap base and home grown aloe vera in all of our soap products. It's hot processed so there's a minimal curing time which also allows us to make soaps to order. We only add essential oils and natural colours to our soap bar range; and Shea butter and ground coffee to our scrub bars.
-
Are your soaps safe for kids and sensitive skin?Yes, our soaps are perfectly safe for sensitive skin and children. They are also very hydrating and won't clog pores.
